Cichlidsandherps, Unlimited is owned and operated by Alison Lowe and Howard Irgang, with a special partnership interest
with James Lowe. We began raising fish in 1994, under the name of Tropical Fish Atlanta, and added reptiles in 2002.
We previously owned Tropical Fish Atlanta Pet Center, located in McDonough, Georgia. With a pending retirement move
to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 2005, and plans to promote the fish and reptiles exclusively through the internet, we decided
to not renew our retail store lease and closed the operation. We chose the name Cichlidsandherps, Unlimited to
more appropriately reflect our future activities. 2006 was the year of "the move," and involved relocating 6,000+ gallons
of fish tanks, breeding stock and the reptiles. With the launch of this site in June 2007, it culminates 18 months of basically
starting over again. Finally all of the hard work is beginning to pay off - we have a large selection of juvenile fish
and a lot of breeding activity with the reptiles. Enjoy the site, come back often, and let us know if we can help

Our Business Philosophy
We take pride in the fish and reptiles we raise and understand that there are many breeders and dealers offering
a multitude of varieties and morphs, which are marketed in an amazing assortment of ads. We price
our animals according to market conditions, and our selling philosophy is simple: we do not offer for sale any fish
or reptile that we would not be willing to buy for ourselves.
Purchasing via the Internet
Purchasing any living thing via the internet requires that the buyer have trust in the seller. Photos
are the primary means of showing potential buyers what we have to offer. Unless specifically noted, all of the fish
and reptile photos on this site have been taken by us and are of stock owned/bred by us. We use no enhancing software.
It can be very difficult to get a good picture of a constantly moving fish; likewise, capturing the true colors of a reptile
is quite a challenge. If you have any questions about our offerings, please contact us.

Our location
We are located just north of the Gulf of Mexico and Gulfport, Mississippi. Even though the area was struck by Hurricane
Katrina in 2005, it has rebounded very well and is home to a variety of gaming operations. We are near a major Interstate

The Hatchery and Reptile House
All of the critters are housed in a 2,000 square foot climate controlled building. Here is an aerial view of our
farm, where Cichlidsandherps, Unlimited is located, in Saucier, Mississippi, USA. We welcome local pickup of pre-ordered
fish or reptiles, BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.
