Reservations, deposits, payments:

Reservations accepted on anticipated incoming stock. Please send an email if you want to reserve fish. Email reservations will have first options to purchase fish once they arrive.  Once landed, a 25% deposit will be required to hold fish while they are in quarantine. This deposit is non-refundable unless fish die while in quarantine. Once out of quarantine, fish are ready to be shipped.  Full payment is required prior to any fish being shipped. Sorry, we cannot hold fish once they are out of quarantine.

Quarantine:

Newly arrived fish are held in quarantine for one week and treated with Nitrofuracin Green. This special mixture is anti-microbial, anti-protozoan, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal. This is a professional treatment that is not suitable for use in show tanks; however it is extremely effective at controlling problems that may arise from shipping stress and holding large numbers of fish prior to shipment. It has been our experience that the majority of fish arrive in good condition and healthy and do not need to be treated with drugs; however, the shipping stress can cause a disease break.  Nitrofuracin Green is not a drug, but is the most effective propolactic treatment we have found to ensure imported fish leave our facility in good condition. We also feed flake food that contains garlic and paprika, both known for their antioxident properties and effectiveness against internal parasites. We do not believe in "shot gun" treating with Metronidazole as bloat is rarely seen in our facility.

Acclimating new fish:

Changing environments is extremely stressful for fish. Apparently healthy fish can become sick and die very quickly just from changing from one tank to another. Some species are more adapatable than others, and even some variants within a species are more adaptable than others.   It is strongly recommended that any new fish NOT be immediately placed in an aquarium that already contains other fish unless the buyer is prepared with propolactic treatments. It is best to place newly acquired fish in their own tank for a couple of weeks before introducing them to a tank with an existing fish population. This is good fish health management and will greatly reduce the stress level on new fish.

  2010 pricing, and sex ratio guarantee:

Imported fish usually arrive in pairs, or even male heavy. While it is possible to be just as successful at breeding with pairs as it is with harem breeding (one or few males to larger #s of females), many customers request trios or better sex ratios. To accomodate this request, we will offer the following pricing structure, specifically with tropheus, but also other fish as possible:

Single males (great for pet stores)

Pairs (1 male:1 female)

Trios (1 male:2 females) = pair pricing + 20% additional per female

Quads (1 male:3 females) = pair pricing + 30% additional per female

Quintets (1 male:4 females) = pair pricing + 40% additional per female

      Accurate sexing is guaranteed on adult fish. We must be notified within 24 hours of receipt of fish if sex ratio is disputed.
